Birthday celebration
That's right, friends, I have officially hit half-a-hundred years old (Jan. 4, 2022)! Because our daughter, Sydney, had to catch a flight early Jan. 4 to Vancouver, BC, for university, we celebrated on Jan. 3. It was so great that the Dvorak 4 were all together—that, in itself, made the day very special!
The lovely CJD made reservations at a very nice restaurant called Firebirds Wood Fired Grill. Of course, I ordered the filet mignon. It was absolutely delicious (being wrapped in bacon didn't hurt 🙂). And the wait staff even gave me a birthday card and put a small vase of flowers in the center of our table.

After that, I opened a few gifts. I got a 100 ft. extension cord, Velcro extension cord hangers, and a new toolbox!
Word on the street is that tomorrow evening on my actual birthday the lovely CJD will be making me a special dessert. If it turns out to be true, I will post photographic evidence.🙂

Here is the photographic evidence of the scratch made double layered chocolate cake slathered in a coat of homemade buttercream frosting. Oh, one more thing.... this cake has a cup of black coffee baked into it and Oreo crumbles on top!
