I got my mower out today, cleaned it up, and started it up to make sure it is ready to go for first mow in a week or two. When a mower sits all winter, the carb dries out and needs to be primed with fresh fuel. There's no primer button on my mower, so I just tip it up on its side with the carb down to prime it. Been doing that for years. Works every time. Of course, I know that tipping it up like that will make some people wince or maybe even convulse! It's fine. Everybody just calm down.
