Schloss Marienburg (Marienburg Castle)

On Saturday, Susan Bratcher took our group to the Marienburg Castle, which was a birthday present from King George V of Hanover (1819–1878) to his wife Queen Marie (1818–1907) (click here for the story). Compared to other castles around Europe, it's a relatively small, quaint palace, but very beautiful—and in a prime location. Here's a photo I shot of the castle that Google "auto-awesomed":
As the photo shows, the castle was designed and built in neo-Gothic style, and features of this style (e.g., pointed arches) are manifest in every room.
Perhaps not surprisingly, my two favorite rooms in the Schloss were the library and the chapel (no photography was allowed, so I've had to resort to those that I could find on the Web). Here's the library:

I love the neo-Gothic dome and all of the hand-carved bookcases in this room. If this were my palace, I could see this as one of the most used rooms.
