P2122 (reprise)

The diabolical DTC (diagnostic trouble code) P2122 has returned. This is the code for "throttle/pedal position sensor/switch D circuit low." You may recall that a while back (Oct. 14, 2022) I addressed this code by replacing the throttle pedal. That seemed to take care of the problem, but now it's back. I do not think it is the pedal. I'm starting to believe that it's a wiring and/or corrosion issue. I've done a bit of research, and I have learned that Saturn cars of the same vintage as mine (esp. Astras, which I have) have an issue with moisture getting into the UEC (underhood electrical center) which causes some terminals to corrode.
I'll still do some resistance and voltage testing on the wires at the connector(s) to be thorough, but I will probably open the fuse box and lift the top portion out to check that the terminals underneath are not corroded. If they are, I'll clean them up with some isopropyl alcohol or go buy some WD-40 electrical contact cleaner and use it. It'll be something like this:
It's cold and a little snowy today, so I may wait a day or two.
I'll keep you posted.
