Back in time

I was back in Iowa during the week of Oct 13, 2024, visiting my family, especially my Mom, who was in the hospital. I had to get a little work done on my car while there (A/C of all things), so I took it to Smith Engine Repair and Tire Services in Yale, Iowa (an excellent small business, by the way).
While they worked on my car, I wandered around town on foot (to say it's a small town would be an insult to towns that are actually small... it's a tiny town). Yale is the town where I went to elementary school. The school building is still mostly there. The oldest part had been torn down, and it seemed like the new part had been made into someone's residence, so I did't take any pictures of it.
However, the old round gymnasium, built in the 1930's, is still standing. I was not able to get inside to check it out, but from the outside it looked to be in decent shape (i.e., it was not caving in).
I think it's on some list of historical buildings in Iowa, but I am not sure [It is! Click here for confirmation]. Anyway, it brought back some fond memories of P.E. classes and indoor recesses. And, of course, it seems so much smaller now than it did when I was in Kindergarten, First, Second, and Third grades!
