I had a text from Mom at 6:15 this morning (she rightly assumed that I was up 🙂) telling me that the doctors have approved moving her out of ICU sometime today to a regular room (5th floor of MercyOne Des Moines [6th Ave]), assuming that a bed becomes available. That is really good news as it indicates that she's made significant improvement in the past few days.

I hope to have a conversation with the social worker, Jacob, today. He is responsible for setting up which rehab center Mom will go to when she is released from the hospital. As I understand it, he has arranged for her to go to one in Perry, Iowa, close to their condo. If that's the case, that would be good for many reasons, one big one being that it would be much easier for Dad to get there. But I need to have those details confirmed.
